Lost in the Trees, Tall Trees
I’ll get to see these guys again on April 2nd in Lynchburg, VA. Last year I helped to organize a concert featuring Lost in the Trees, Hot Lava, and Wild Nothing. Lost in the Trees has a grand orchestral sound perfect for the outdoor stage they performed on, the wisteria drenched woods behind them, the warm grass the audience sat in, and the setting sun. It helped that I was surrounded by my friends, people that I saw everyday and care so much about, people that I was about to move away from in a month. I wasn’t the only one teary-eyed.
I think you’ll see what I mean when you listen to this song and then promptly download it.
Crystal Castles, Not In Love (feat. Robert Smith)
Do yourself a favor. Download it.
I want a gorgeous house that does not depress me, feathery taxidermy, someone to love me for a long time, dogs instead of human babies, and a library with dark wood.
Gobble Gobble, Boring Horror (Download)
They have a tumblr. And the most cracked out acid-trip of a myspace page.
Haurki Muarakami, A Wild Sheep Chase
Today I finally finished reading this book while curled up in the backseat of the car, in a cemetery, as rain dripped down the windows. I did not plan this, but it was perfect.
I’m working my way through this thing, adding more each week. It’s pretty embarrassing that I haven’t read some of these books.
